We are so excited to announce that we will be having our 2nd Annual Explosion of the Arts Party at the Armory this year on Tuesday, October 4th! This is our most exciting event of the year!
Here are some of the things that will be going on this night:
*Soaring Artists will be revealing and have on display 8 public murals this night. 5 of them will be installed at the Emporium, while 3 of them will go up in Pocket Park! There will be a professional photographer on-site to take your photos with several of these interactive murals!
*We will be having our Community-based Robot Exhibit on display! Robots for this were made by schools, churches, community members, Filling Homes residential homes and day programs, Soaring Artists, and those who attended Kids Kamps this year!
*DJ Nune of Loco Sounds will be DJing for us this night!
*There will be a costume contest!
*There will be a community pumpkin carving/painting competition and display this night. You’ll register and get your pumpkins the week prior. The pumpkins will be displayed this night. Several winning categories will recieve cash prizes!
*We will have 10 professional Artists doing a live art mural competition during the event. At the end of the night, the Artists jury will select one painting that will be used as one of the Pocket Park Murals next summer!
*Mya’s Sweet Treats will be open for this Event. We will also be having Breckler’s Weiners on Wheels and Stoked Wood Fire Pizza (food trucks foe the night!)
*Students from a local school will be performing!

We will be holding a community pumpkin carving/painting competition and exhibit on October 4th at our Explosion of the Arts Party! Want to be involved?
Here’s how it works:
You can register and pay between now and September 23rd, by following this link or stopping by the Studio. Beginning on September 27th, you’ll be able to pick up your pumpkin to begin creating. The pumpkins will then need to be returned to the Armory on Monday or Tuesday, October 3rd or 4th.
On the evening of Tuesday, October 4th, at our Explosion of the Arts Party, all of the pumpkins will be on exhibit. The community will have the chance to vote, based on several categories (Scariest, Cutest, Funniest, Most Original and Most Artistic.) The winners will recieve monetary prizes!
Registration includes the purchase of your pumpkin. All other supplies needed will need to be covered by the Artist.
