October 31, 2025, 6:00 PM–7:30 PM Trick or Treat at Northcrest Community, Holiday Location: Northcrest Rehab Center, 240 Northcrest Dr., Napoleon, Ohio 43545 Northcrest Rehab offers a warm, safe, and dry place to trick or treat! We will also have a bake sale, costume contest, and will be taking favorite teacher nominations!

October 31, 2025, 5:30 PM–7:00 PM Trick or Treat in Hamler Community, Holiday Location: Hamler, Ohio 43524 Join in a Halloween Celebration! To keep Trick or Treaters safe the main portion of town will have local Fire Department Volunteers at the beginning and ending of town. Those houses inside of that area are welcome to turn on their lights and participate in traditional trick or treating. Those outside of that area please join local businesses downtown for Trunk style treating. Those wishing to set up for trunk style treating please arrive before 5:15 for set up to avoid safety issues. Let’s come together and show the kids a great time and strong community!

We usually have 60-75 kids come through. You can decorate but definitely don’t have to.

October 29, 2025, 5:00 PM–7:00 PM Keeping Our Girls Safe Self-Defense Class at HC Hospital Community, Health, Information Location: Henry County Hospital – Heller Entrance, 1600 E Rivervew Ave, Napoleon, OH 43545 Keeping Our Girls Safe (KOGS) Classes are recommended for women 16+ years old. Participants can wear everyday clothes to the class and are asked to come 15 minutes prior to the start of your registered class to sign release forms. The instructors for the class are two highly trained law enforcement officers from local police departments. Deadline to register is October 22. Keeping Our Girls Safe Legacy & Vision On July 19, 2016, Sierah Joughin went for a bicycle ride in rural northwest Ohio. Sierah was kidnapped less than 500 feet from her home and it was later learned that she had been murdered by a previously convicted violent offender. Keeping Our Girls Safe’s is a grass roots organization created by the Kolasinski family (Sierah’s long-time boyfriend Josh’s family) to Honor Sierah’s legacy. KOGS advocates; educates; engages and empowers against violence towards women.

This is important to our shelter as we receive no county or state funding. Players and volunteers are always welcome!
