It is designed to teach individuals how to recognize the warning signs of suicide, intervene effectively, and connect the person at risk to appropriate resources. Often referred to as a form of “gatekeeper training,” QPR is similar to CPR in that it equips ordinary people with simple, lifesaving skills that can be applied in a crisis.
