Laura Galbraith at The Lumberyard

Arts and Culture, Community

Location: The Lumberyard Winery, 118 W Front St, Napoleon, OH 43545

Laura Galbraith is a local pianist from the Lyons, Ohio area. Playing since the age of six, having taken just a few years of lessons, she continued to teach herself as her interest in music grew. Her love of the piano has led her to her current position as pianist at Lyons Christian Church and accompanist for multiple choirs at JOY Homeschool Co-Op in Ridgeville Corners. She also hosts musical concerts each year and is available for hire for private events, able to provide beautiful background music to any event.
You’ll find her musical catalogue just as varied as her personal musical tastes. She enjoys playing crowd favorites like well-known pieces from film scores and soundtracks, a variety of cleverly arranged popular hits, Broadway chart toppers, and beautiful hymns. You might even find her bringing to life an oldie from antique sheet music or playing from a large Christmas selection during the holidays!
Either way, you’re sure to be delighted when in Laura’s piano playing presence.

Wreaths Across America at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Napoleon Twp

Church Event, Community, Holiday, Information

Location: St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Napoleon Township; 16976 County Road Q1, Napoleon OH

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery Napoleon Township, an official Wreaths Across America (WAA) location, will host a wreath-laying ceremony, joining more than 2,500 other locations across the country for National Wreaths Across America Day.

Coordinated and led by St. Paul’s Men of God, they plan to place over 90 wreaths on the headstones of our fallen service members at our cemetery. This annual event seeks to further the WAA mission of Remember, Honor, Teach, ensuring that the memory of those who served our country endures.

We extend a special invitation to family members of veterans interred in the cemetery to place a wreath at their veteran’s headstone.

The ceremony will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 12:00 noon in St. Paul’s Fellowship Hall (16976 County Road Q1, Napoleon). Following the short service and reading of the names, we will move to the cemetery to place wreaths. This event is free and open to the public.

If you would like to sponsor a wreath or if you would like to purchase a wreath to be placed at a veteran’s grave in another location, contact Jim Daman or the church office. The cost of one wreath is $17. Order deadline is November 26.

Wreaths Across America is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded to continue and expand the annual wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery begun by Maine businessman Morrill Worcester in 1992. The organization’s mission – Remember, Honor, Teach – is carried out in part each year by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies in December at Arlington, as well as at more than 2,500 veterans’ cemeteries and other locations in all 50 states and overseas.
