Summer Kids Class at Soaring Arts

Location: Soaring Arts Studio #2, 119 W Washington St, Napoleon, OH 43545

ids 7 and up: Join us on Friday, Aug 9th! We will be creating abstract “process art,” where the process is as fun as the final product!
We’ll be doing things like squigee painting, watercolor pours, smash art and more!
Examples have been made and the class will be led by our Studio Artists. They will teach you how to create these projects from start to finish!
*Class Fee: $30. This includes all supplies needed for these classes and valuable studio instruction.
All projects will be finished this day, but some may need to dry before they can be transported and may need to be picked up the following week.
*There is limited seating for this class. To RSVP, please register and pre-pay. This can be done several different ways:
1- By going to our website (see “get ticket” link on this event.)
2-By stopping at the Studio or
3-Over the phone (419-592-0535.)
**Your spot will be officially reserved once we have received your payment.
*Ages 7 and up are welcome. We do ask that parents fill out a waiver for each child on the first day of the class, if they haven’t previously signed one this summer.

Ash and Thistle Artistry Presents the “Love. You. Summit” at Shady Brook Acres

Napoleon, OH – Ash and Thistle Artistry is proud to announce the “Love. You. Summit,” a unique and empowering group photoshoot event taking place at Shady Brook Acres. This free event is designed to celebrate self-love, resilience, and the beauty of our individual journeys.

Participants will have the opportunity to paint their scars with gold and spend an hour in a comfortable and supportive environment. The photoshoot will capture participants in black bras and undies, allowing them to choose styles they are most comfortable with—whether it be lingerie or a more relaxed look.

The “Love. You. Summit” is more than just a photoshoot; it’s a celebration of self-acceptance and the strength that comes from embracing our imperfections. The event aims to create a community where everyone feels seen, valued, and empowered.

Since 1998, the HCHS has been successfully operating a State licensed bingo game to help keep our shelter operating. This is important to our shelter as we receive no county or state funding. Players and volunteers are always welcome!

Doors open at 5pm – games start at 7pm.

Backpacks, Bluegrass & Blessings, Sunday, Sept. 8 from 4:00-7:00pm. Celebrate back-to-school with a family fun time! On Sunday, Sept. 8 from 4:00-7:00pm, St. Peter Lutheran (20191 US 6) will host Backpacks, Bluegrass & Blessings for the community. There will be live music from Bluegrass Praise, delicious food and treats available from Tropical Freeze, a bounce house and other kids’ activities.
All are welcome, so pack up your lawn chairs, invite friends and come join the fun!
And youth can get FREE ice cream from Tropical Freeze by completing a community scavenger hunt before the event! Beginning Aug. 18, businesses around Ridgeville will post a Backpacks, Bluegrass & Blessings sign in their window. Each sign has a different word you’ll need to collect, plus a clue to the next stop.
Collect all the words and bring the completed phrase on Sept. 8th.
Here’s your first clue to get started: Everyone loves to get a card in the mail, but first it must go through this office’s scale. Head to that location in town between Aug 18-Sept 7 to pick up a sheet and start the hunt. This is a great way to dive deeper into the community, have some fun on your own time, and get free ice cream!
